Sparkyl Founding Statement

It’s with great pride and gratitude to all legitimate Communists that have paved the revolutionary path for us thus far that we, the Editorial Board, announce the founding of a new magazine of sound dialectical materialist Marxist theory and commentary, Sparkyl; a name decided upon because of “the spark’s” importance to the Marxist journalistic tradition.

Sparkyl is written by the Editorial Board and its contributors, all of whom uphold a unified Marxist political line. The articles within Sparkyl reflect this unified political line, a line that has been crafted and will continually be refined through a dialectical study of the concrete material conditions facing the proletariat today, and informed by the great revolutionary Marxist theoreticians of the past, like Marx himself, Engels, Lenin, Stalin, and Mao. It is because we recognize the importance of propagating just such a sound Marxist political line that we found Sparkyl, so as to disseminate a proper political understanding among the masses, and especially within the proletarian class, that can grant intellectual and ideological clarity through their oppression, leading to appropriate material action towards their liberation.

We have not found an example of such a publication that is not currently sullying Marxism with revisionism and economism, disavowing Marxism from its practical, revolutionary character and turning it into another field for bourgeois intellectuals to create and sell content within. In this regard, and as a magazine for the politically-rising proletarian class, Sparkyl stands completely opposite these types of publications, as any of our readers will see.

We do not desire or wish to propagate dogmatism within Marxism or towards any of the findings we put forward. We, as all Communists should be, are dedicated to developing our worldview beyond all dogmatic thinking, and we utilize the tools given to us in the dialectical materialist Marxist philosophy because we recognize them as scientifically sound, representing a true worldview coming from the actual material relations of human beings to the world. As such, we have built our political line in a scientific way and are unafraid of new information; we welcome critiques from our readership, understanding that valid criticism can only strengthen the practical development of our theory and revolutionary practice.

As a publication of the people, we hope to grow a mass of contributors; Marxists sharing our political line, disseminating and refining it as we struggle forward as comrades. In addition to principled contributors, we ask for the financial support of our readership and the masses generally as we undertake our tasks. The more we are supported by our readers, the more we will be able to turn Sparkyl into a real periodical of the revolutionary working class, producing consistent and insightful exposures of the current state of the struggle, and granting it needed ideological coherence and guidance. We understand Sparkyl as the vehicle for undertaking these crucial literary tasks, which, once completed, will provide a proper ideological foundation for material liberation via the Communist organization of the people.
